House Talk Projects is where homeowners share real before-and-after case studies from jobs they have actually finished. This section is still being built, but you can use it to see the kind of project details we plan to publish and how to share your own story when submissions open.
What a project report looks like
Each project report is meant to be practical, simple to scan, and honest about what went right and what did not.
- Budget: a clear price range or final cost, when the homeowner is comfortable sharing it.
- Timeline: how long the job took, including delays if they happened.
- Contractor details: whether the work was DIY, partly hired out, or done by a contractor.
- Before and after photos: pictures that show the starting point and the finished result.
- Lessons learned: what the homeowner would do again, avoid, or change next time.
